SEO Strategist

The Grommet is seeking an analytical self-starter to join our E-commerce Marketing Team as a Search Engine Optimization Strategist. This role will help grow The Grommet’s customer base and revenue through day-to-day execution and optimization of Search Engine Optimization. This person will work closely with other team members to deliver efficient new customer acquisition and return on ad spend goals.

This role requires an experienced SEO Strategist who can help identify new areas of growth, increase organic rankings and traffic, acquire external links, work with our content team to execute content marketing/SEO strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of technical SEO, content marketing, and SEO best practices

Key Activities:

  • Work with the Director of Acquisition and content marketing teams to optimize for organic search crawling, indexing and keyword ranking.
  • Perform search engine optimization activities, including analysis of our site's implementation of SEO best practices, competitive audits, and content opportunities.
  • Work with our product and engineering teams to improve site architecture and page content.
  • Improve, track and report on key metrics, including referrals, linking domains, rankings, sessions, transactions and AOV
  • Use data from SEO tools such as Ahrefs, Majestic, Moz, and Authority Labs to make and implement SEO recommendations
  • Oversee planning and execution of ongoing SEO projects and initiatives
  • Develop and implement site-wide and collection and category-specific SEO tactics
  • Collaborate with site merchandising, copy/PR, product and engineering to execute SEO strategies
  • Participate in Campaign Planning meetings to support key organizational initiatives via SEO
  • Measure and report on the effectiveness of various SEO tactics and KPIs – including keyword rankings, traffic, revenue and ROI

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years prior SEO experience with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Proactive opportunity identification, planning and execution skills and abilities
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience using analytics tools such as Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and Javascript
  • Strong organizational skills and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Highly driven, go-getter attitude
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Proven track record of successfully implementing SEO tactics on E-commerce sites, increasing natural traffic and search revenue
  • Understanding of basic HTML, CSS and code structure as it relates to SEO
